Letter Portrait

Picture
The "Letter Portrait" project was about printing the picture of someone famous that was important or us or that we liked. It had to be a face picture so that it could be easier to do. Then we had to draw the face in a piece of white paper. The drawing was a really important part because with it then it was easier to write around the letters. The writing part was fun, just puting the iPod on and listens to the lyrics of my favorite songs and writing it down on the paper. Then pick a couple of cardboards and paste the portrait there so that it can have some color. At the end we had a portrait of someone famous but with letters instead of lines and shapes.
The project was fun to do but also really challenging. It was hard to find the lyrics first that I wanted to put on the portrait. Then to start was also difficult because I didn’t know were to start writing. Although once I started I couldn’t stop because I wanted to see how it ended up looking. The part of the hair was also hard because to make it look like hair I had to write in many different ways so that it can look like hair.  I think it was a good send entertaining project because who could have imagine that we could draw someone’s face with words or letters.

Magic Tree

Picture
This is a sketch called "Magic Tree" because I was inspired by candy that day. I started by painting the background with many different colors like blue, purple, pink, green, orange, yellow and more. Then I wanted to do a candy tree but it ended up being too complicated so I just did a simple yellow tree in a separate piece of paper. Then I cut the tree and pasted it on the colorful background. I called it magic because is full of different colors and it has a different shape, other than the normal of trees, also because it has a different but inspiring background.
I felt like drawing trees that day so that’s how I came up with the Magic tree drawing. It was easy because it was something I wanted to draw and that I knew I could draw. Although I was done really fast and easy, I liked a lot to draw this sketch because it was something I wanted to do and try, unlike any other project, with this drawing I could do anything I wanted.

Build the Picture

Picture
The "Build the Picture" project was about finding a picture on a magazine, cut it off and finish the picture with any kind of drawing we wanted to finish it. I cut off the eyes of a make-up model. In my drawing there’s a girl that is hiding behind a graffiti wall. She looks kind of serious, and scared. That’s because she is discovering a revolutionary world. I painted her with huge, colorful and wacky hair because she is supposed to be a child full of innocence, curiosity, and joy discovering a dark world. Behind the "d" of freedom, there’s a gnome but not so clear, that represents the expectation of the kid at seeing this wall that is to find a magic world. Next to the gnome there’s a quote that says: "Dream as you’ll live forever" which represents kind of what she is expecting but not the way she is expecting it.
This project was fun too because we got to search in magazines for a picture that we wanted to complete and tell a story with it. The hard part was definitely looking for a picture to complete because at the beginning it was hard to figure out what we were going to paint. Then once I found the picture that I wanted and I knew what I wanted to paint then it was really easy to start painting. For this project I used colors, markers, a picture from the magazine and liquid paper to draw the graffiti’s on the wall.
